The Southeast Iowa Blues Society (SIBS) welcomes Reverend Raven and The Chain Smoking Alter Boys with West Side Andy to the Bestwestern Fairfield Inn Saturday November 18th. Reverend Raven and his band tour throughout the U.S., Canada and the Virgin Islands in support of their latest album “Live at Big Bull” released on Nevermore Records.

Winners of a number of blues awards, including: (6) for best blues bands from the Wisconsin Area Music Industry (WAMI), two awards for Milwaukee’s Best Blues Band from the Shepherd Express Newspaper’s Readers Poll.  The Reverend and his band have also been nominated in two categories for a Blues Blast Magazine Award for Best Blues Band and Song of The Year in 2012.  They were also part of a Grammy Nominated CD in 2007.

Born and raised on south side of Chicago, the Reverend has been playing the blues since 1971 when he first saw Freddy King play at the Kinetic Theatre in Chicago. Since 1990 he has opened for B.B King, Gatemouth Brown, Pinetop Perkins, Koko Taylor Band, Junior Wells, Billy Branch, Magic Slim, Elvin Bishop, Sugar Blue, Lonnie Brooks, William Clarke, Lefty Dizz, Canned Heat and numerous others at festivals and at Buddy Guy's Legends.

Opening the evening will be The Jeff Co Blues Explosion, featuring Steve McClain and Kevin Riley. Jeff Co Blues Explosion is a blend of McClain’s finger picking blues licks and gritty vocals blended perfectly with Riley’s amazing harp playing.

Doors will open at 6:30 with music starting at 7. Food and beverages will be available for purchase at the Bestwestern. Tickets for Reverend Raven and The Chain Smoking Alter Boys with West Side Andy and special guest The Jeff Co Blues Explosion are $12 in advance and for all current SIBS members ($15 at the door) and available at the Classic 96 Studios in Fairfield along with Morgan’s Bar and Grill in Ottumwa, or by calling 641-919-7477
